Hearing you read your work is wonderful, Lisa. Poetry can be so uniquely personal, a fresh and immediate glimpse of one person’s “everyday.” And it’s a beautiful Mystery how one poem like that can speak powerfully to the feeling or experience of many. Both your writing and your voice as you read it really brought this home for me.
The line “where was my training?” absolutely pierced me.
